Let me explain.  I constantly hear Business Owners say, “I don’t know how Facebook works myself, I never use it.”  So when I’m trying to talk with them about the customer experience on the platform, the very one they have chosen to promote their services on, the same one offering access to over 1.2billion users, they have no real practical experience of how it works.  Now that seems a little remiss to me given it’s your business at stake.

To understand how Social Media marketing works means taking a walk in the shoes of the online community. It requires you to become a user on the site you’ve chosen to promote your business.  By doing that, you’ll learn how people interact and engage with Brands and the kind of content that grabs attention and engages. When armed with practical user experience combined with the vision you have for your company, the direction and goals for your online marketing becomes clear.  In turn, the content shared is better and more targeted to your ideal audience.

Brand TrustWhen targeting is strategic, and you’re engaging with an audience already interested in your product or service, it’s easier to create relationships with online users.  As those relationships deepen, trust follows.  And what we do know for sure is, people are more inclined to buy from the brands they trust.

Social media is now recognized as a marketing tool and as a gateway for referrals and sales. It’s why business owners are taking the time to understand the platform they’re using and learning how to convert online shoppers to buyers.
