While that title might seem heavy-handed the reality is, if you’ve banged up a Facebook page because you think you should, take a half-hearted approach to the content you post and rarely interact with your audience, your chances of success are small.
To use Facebook as an effective marketing tool for your business you need to have clearly defined objectives and goals before you can create strategies or tactics to use on your Facebook brand page.
In a nutshell, you need to know what you want to achieve.
The following posts will show you some strategies used by Irish brands with different objectives.
1. Introduce a new product
3. Maintain ongoing awareness of charity or cause
Determining Your Facebook Strategy
Before you do anything else, take a look at the following questions.
Q: What is my overall goal for the business?
Q: What is my time frame to achieve it?
Q: How can my Facebook page help to achieve that goal?
When you map out your goal, you can then decide which Facebook strategies or tactics will help you achieve it. They might include some if not all of the following:-
- Building connections with friends of fans/customers
- Through the sharing of images, videos and stories relevant to your brand and of topical interest
- Integrating Apps that will engage fans in new ways across different platforms
- Promoting events
- Using Facebook advertising to target new customers
Next steps are to create a Facebook Conversation Calendar which helps to develop your Facebook strategy while making the process more efficient and keeps posts updated regularly. More of that in another blog blog.
If you have a tactic you’ve used with great success, share it below, I’d love to hear about it.
To your online success!
